Today Xavier Rambla has presented in ECER Plus conference the communication “The Making of Higher Education Institutional Policies with Regard to Blended Learning” , signed by himself and Kenan Dikilitas.

In this session, we presented the project focusing on the Intellectual Output 3: Handbook for educational leaders and teachers in higher education. The two main research questions to guide this presentation were:

  1. Do universities undertake ‘quality work’ to develop blended learning policies?
  2. Has a ‘policy instrument’ (e.g. EEA) contributed to persuade leaders to develop blended learning policies?

Xavier, as presenter, has explained in detail what we understand by ‘quality work’ and ‘policy instruments’, and after explaining the background, the methodology and the analysis, he stated the following provisional research conclusions:

  • The six universities engage in ‘quality work’ related to blended learning in areas such as policy and teacher-student interaction.
  • Since the EU message on blended learning resonates with the mission of the six universities, its main policy instruments (EEA, QA) have been influential.
